How do you increase Hunter rank in Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate? ›

Your Hunter Rank increases by 1 for each Urgent Quests you post and clear. Urgent Quests can be posted once you have cleared specific quests in the available list for each level. To join a G-rank quest, you need the appropriate Hunter Rank and G-rank permit.

there are solo G rank mission but the only way to unlock them is by completing specific G1-3 quests, no way to do any solo G before beating G3 online. There is no offline G-rank.

HR 7 > HR 8

Once you complete the HR 8 Urgent Quest, you become G Rank, which opens up the hardest difficulty of monsters in the game, along with the best gear.

You can increase your level by increasing the amount of experience your character has obtained. How do you unlock G rank expeditions? ›

After you gain access to the Everwood, you can go on an Expedition at any time from the World Map. By completing Quests undertaken at towns and at the Gathering Hall, you'll unlock the ability to go on High-rank and G-rank Expeditions.

High Rank is only available in the Hub missions, unlocking once you hit the four star quests.

If it's a low number of button presses and combos, then the Bow, LBG, and HBG are the simplest by far. If it's a weapon that makes fighting monsters easier, then Charge Blade is probably the clear winner, with Lance on its coattails.

Hunter Ranks

You can increase your Hunter Rank by completing Urgent Quests at the Hunters Hub. Urgent Quests will appear once you have completed certain Quests.

Once Hunter Rank is "uncapped" - you can continue raising Hunter Rank by completing quests, which grant a certain amount of points depending on the quest type.

Use Hunter potions to boost the Hunter level to be able to catch creatures earlier than they become available. In addition, boosting the Hunter level before level 20, 40, 60 and 80 allows the player to set an extra trap for faster experience rates.

When you first play Monster Hunter Rise, you are in Low Rank. This isn't mentioned as such - but know all the initial quests in either the Village and Hub quest tracks are in this rank. High Rank is only available in the Hub missions, unlocking once you hit the four star quests.
