What is the hardest quest in Monster Hunter? ›

Not counting Training Quests, Monster Hunter Generations has six tiers of Village Quests. At each tier there are "key" quests that must be done to progress. Once those key quests are completed an Urgent Quest will become available. Completing that quest will unlock the next tier of quests.

Hunter Ranks

You can increase your Hunter Rank by completing Urgent Quests at the Hunters Hub. Urgent Quests will appear once you have completed certain Quests.

Keep doing Village Quests. You should eventually start unlocking "Special License" quests. Completing them will allow you to advance to the next rank of Hub quests without doing any, with the last of them unlocking the Urgent Quest to unlock HR 4, which is the start of High Rank.

At the Hunters Hub Quest Counter, you can sign up for Low-rank, High-rank, and Special Permit Quests.
