Are you looking to grow your blog traffic with Pinterest? In this article, I reveal the best Pinterest strategies that will explode your click-throughs and increase traffic to your blog.
When I first learned the power of Pinterest I was hooked. I mean there is no other platform where your content lives forever.
But in order to be successful on Pinterest (and turn it into a traffic driving machine), there are a few strategies that you need to implement so you can grow your followers, repins, and traffic quickly and easily.
I have been testing these Pinterest strategies for about a year now. I know what works, what doesn’t, and what is a waste of your time.
Today, I’m going to show you a couple of different strategies that I have used to grow my business with Pinterest.
I recommend that you implement them all or you can choose to do just a few and see what works best for you.
1 // Use Keywords
Why should you care about optimizing your pins for Pinterest? Well, Pinterest is a search and discovery tool, not a social network. Without keywords in place then you won’t show up in the search, plain and simple.
I guarantee you that there are thousandsof people searching for what you have tooffer and you absolutely need to get your pins in front of them.
Doing this one simple thing can drive tons of targeted traffic to your site every. single. day.
- Research targeted keywords and find out what people are actually searching for on Pinterest.
- Place these keywords in your pins description, board description, and profile.
2 // Diversify Your Boards
Having multiple places on your own account to save your pin to will ensure your pin reaches the most amount of people.
The key to gaining leverage when saving to multiple boards is having a strategy.
- Pin Daily – Your pins PLUS other pins that have a high repin rate on your boards
- Repin other people’s pins frequently to help maintain a high-ranking board
- The more times you can pin in a day the better. Spread them out and always sandwich in other pins.
3 // Pin Daily
Do you ever notice that when you pin something Pinterest will recommend a board or pin you might like as well?
Pinterest is constantly rewarding active pinners by recommending their pins and boards to other interested users.
The more active you are the better but we both know there are only so many hours in the day. So, how can you maintain an active presence on Pinterest without the daily pinning chore?
You automate it!
The only automation software I recommend is Tailwind. I use and LOVE Tailwind for all of its amazing features.
Just look at what you can do…
- The looping feature – it repins your older pins from a specific board! Set it and forget it!
- Schedule pin while on vacation– automatically pin and keep traffic coming while you’re away.
- Analytics – Tailwind gives you some great insight into the performance of your pins.

Thanks Emma! That’s great that you’ve had luck with Pingroupie.com. I know a lot of people that have so that is why I always list it as a resource.
I think my niche is generally hard to find group boards in because there is no blogger category on Pinterest.

Hi Kay! I’m so sorry it took me so long to respond to your comment, for some reason I missed it. You can use the Pinterest search to research your keywords or you can use a tool like pinterest keyword tool to see what’s popular. Hope this helps!

thanks for sharing articleReply
Thanks for posting this! I’ve been struggling with gathering a Pinterest following, despite posting every day and a couple other things you mentioned. I definitely struggle with keywords, though, so that’s something to look into. You’re also the second person I’ve come across to mention Board Booster, so I’ll be checking that out tomorrow! Thanks again xx
