Anyone planning to have a watch party for the big game this year? I have a cute little craft you can add to your football party table this year: football treat boxes! They’re the perfect size for small candies, plus they’re so quick and easy to make!

I used 14 oz bags of Skittles and Starburst from Target for my football treat boxes. Target has everything from food and candy to party decor, plates, cups, and napkins, so it’s the perfect place to shop for your football party and get everything you need all in one trip! Now through Game Day, if you download the Target Cartwheel app on your phone, you can get a coupon for 10% off Skittles and Starburst from Target; just download the app and then click here from your mobile device!

Once you have your football party supplies, all you need is a cute way to share them with your guests!

I loved using my candy box punch board for this project; it makes it so quick and easy! But if you don’t have a punch board, I’ve provided a free printable template that you can use. There’s a football leather patterned template that is ready to go; just print, cut, and assemble! Or if you’d prefer to use colored paper like I did, you can print and cut the plain template, then add the laces later. If you’re using a punch board, just follow the instructions on your board to make the boxes. Trim your brown paper to size, then punch out the diamond shapes and score each crease line.

Once your paper is punched (or cut out if you used the printable template), apply double sided adhesive to the half-sized section, then fold the box in on itself and press to make sure the adhesive sticks.

Using a white chalk marker, draw laces on one section of the treat box.

Then take a length of baker’s twine and tie it around one end of the football treat box. As you pull the twine tight, it will close in the end of the box.

Fill the open end of the box with Skittles or Starburst, then tie that end shut with another piece of baker’s twine. And you’re done!

Disclosure: I received compensation from Skittles and Starburst in exchange for my participation in this campaign, and my honest discussion of their products. But those are two of my absolute favorite candies, andno footballparty would be complete without them; all opinions in this post are 100% my own. I would never write a post about something I didn’t think was useful or interesting for you guys, and Practically Functional will only publish sponsored posts for companies or products I love and believe in! 🙂
