Early life, family, educational background

Comedian, writer, producer and radio actor Dave Landau, was born under the star sign of Pisces on 9 June 1983, in Detroit. Michigan, USA; not much is known about Dave’s family and early childhood, but he reportedly has an (unnamed) twin brother. Dave studied at Lansing Community College.

Dave has been a contestant four times in “Last Comic Standing,” a reality television competition series, in the seasons that aired in 2007, 2008 and 2014, as well as the 8th season of the series, where he ended up in the finals, but didn’t win.

Career

His career started when he was 19 years old after he matriculated from high school. He began performing at the Second City Comedy Theater in Chicago. According to improvtampa.com, Dave’s mind ‘goes to places that angels fear to tread,’ which they insist is a trait of a good comedian. ‘Dave finds jokes everywhere; with his own foibles and faults, to his family, to pop culture and the state of the world today.’

In 2003, Dave appeared as himself in the television film “Night Shift,” and in 2006 he voiced broadcaster Henry Cho in “What’s That Clickin’ Noise?” In 2007, he appeared in the parody series “Live at Gotham”, and in 2008, he guest-appeared in “The Bob and Tom Show.” In 2009, he performed at Man Up, Stand-Up. The following year, he attended the Detroit International Comedy Festival as a main act, and from 2014 to 2016, he performed at the Gotham Comedy Live.

In 2009, he was nominated to join season eight of NBC’s competition series, “Last Comic Standing,” where he ended up as a finalist. He was previously in the show in 2007 and 2008. The show brought him a lot of attention and fans which led to more television appearances, including on Comedy Central. When asked about how he writes his scripts, Dave shared, ‘I tell a story until it has a lot of punchlines and a big ending. I work it and work it. I don’t record anything, if it’s good, I’ll remember it. Many comics disagree with me on that and I don’t care. It works for me.’

Dave appeared in “Comedy Television” in 2012, “Comics Unleashed ” in 2015, and in April 2018, in Compound Media’s “Anthony Cumia Show” to replace Artie Lange – the show’s name was then changed to “The Anthony Cumia Show with Dave Landau.” That year, he also guest-appeared in “This Is Not Happening”, and in 2019 he made another guest appearance, this time in “Mornin’!!!” with Sincerely Kat and Bill Schulz.
